Finding the right frame height A good sitting position is the be-all and end-all of cycling. Only then does cycling become a pleasure without discomfort. One detail is, for example, the correct frame height. The frame height on a bicycle – also called frame size – is the distance from the centre of the bottom bracket to the end of the seat tube. The leg length and the crotch height are decisive for choosing the optimal frame size. To determine this, a simple and quick, but never theless accurate measurement is required. The tape measure from grandma's sewing box is sufficient for this.

How to calculate the correct frame height 1. Measure the length of the crotch (without shoes) 2. Multiply the value of the stride length in centi metres by the specific data for the respective bicycle type. City/Trekking bike: stride length x 0,66 Mountain bike: stride length x 0,57 If the calculated value lies between two frame sizes, the following applies: • For a more agile, sporty ride, choose the smaller bike

No tape measure at hand? Using the table on the left, you can determine the correct frame height with your approximate body size.
